Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at my Mom's house. I think we had roughly 20 people there. This year, Jay and Cristy joined us, because Cristy was too pregnant to drive to Raymondville to visit her sister, which is where her family spent Thanksgiving. Though I am sad she had to miss her family's Thanksgiving, I am thankful she and Jay could spend it with us.

Everyone pitched in to make this a great Thanksgiving dinner. I think we had everything from oyster dressing to chocolate pie. Hannah was held by everyone. I am thankful she did not get fussy the entire time. It was a Thanksgiving miracle!!

The day after Thanksgiving didn't fare as well. Hannah and I met up with our cousins, Carla, Gail, and Gail's grandson, Ethan. We went to the Galleria to walk off all the pie Jim and Betty made. Jim likes to have a 1 pie per person ratio. He succeeds every year. Anyway, I think it was just too much for Hannah. She needed more time to rest before another big outing. Lesson learned. At one point, I was strolling Hannah around Sak's trying to get her to fall asleep. As soon as I would get close, a sales associate would walk up and start cooing over Hannah. One even asked her if she was going to sleep. Hello!!! Yes, Mommy was trying to put her to sleep and you just ruined my efforts! Don't worry, I just smiled and thanked her for telling me how beautiful Hannah was. Hannah ended the trip when she spit up all over the Mall floor. It was time to go.

Saturday, I left Hannah with Jim and went to the movies with my sister in law, Dedra. We had a great time. We saw "The Changling." It was a very sad, yet strong film. Yes, it has Angelina Jolie in it. Jim is not a fan, but she really did a phenomenal job. I was impressed. It is hard to believe the movie is based on a true story. I don't want to give anything up, so I am being vague. Sorry... I arrived home to some of Betty's relatives. They were on their way to Weslaco, TX, near the border. It was a full weekend of visiting with family and friends. Talk abouta great Holiday.

Hannah is now in bed, recouping from all the activity. She has a runny nose now. I'm not sure if it is because she is teething, or because of the weather change. I just hope she sleeps through the night tonight. She was so stuffed up last night, she couldn't sleep well. Jim and I took turns rocking her. Finally, around midnight, Hannah fell asleep. Tonight, she went right to bed. Whew! I get to finish this blog, which has been in progress for two days. If it doesn't flow, I apologize. I am a tad sleep deprived myself. Luckily, Jim put both Hannah and me down for a nap. We both slept for an hour and a half.

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving, just as I did.
