Hannah's Crawling

We're in trouble now. Hannah is on the go. She started scooting just before Halloween. Now, she has finally started to crawl. She is also very focused. I read on Babycenter.com that you can easily distract a 7 month old. Not so! Hannah was focused on Jim's computer cord, so I tried to distract her with a flashy toy. I turned her away from the cord and everything. She turned right back around and headed for the cord. She is a girl who knows what she wants, and goes for it. can you say "Baby proofing time?"

Not only is Hannah crawling, she is trying very hard to pull herself up and stand. Why the hurry, I don't know. She has been eating Bill and Betty's coffee table in the process. I am pretty sure Hannah did lift herself up once, but I can't remember if I helped, so I don't want to say she has actually done it. I have not seen her do it again. Now, she has come close on her Pooh tree. It just topples over with her before she's all the way up. I don't think that really counts either. Like I said, she's close.

The funny thing is, if you stand her up and let her hold onto the tree, she tries to let go. I now have to sit behind her, so I can catch her when she falls. She falls quite a bit. It is definitely fun to watch. We are now trying to laugh at the falls so she will stop crying every single time. Let's face it, she has a lifetime of falling down ahead. I pray she has better coordination than I did. I am very proud of Hannah for realizing she needs to stand flat on her feet and not on her toes. I think that realization is a big step towards standing. We'll be there soon.
