Iowa Vacation

Hannah and I met Jim and the family in Iowa for Jim's Iowa vacation. Jim LOVES his Iowa vacation! He drove out with Jay and Cristy on a Saturday, while Hannah and I stayed home for work. Joel and Wendy, Bill and Betty, and Madeleine, Miriam, and Amanda were all there for the whole week. Hannah and I showed up late Wednesday night. Our flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues( it came in with a parade of fire trucks and police cars). My dad and Mary joined in the festivities before I arrived. I hear there was some major Bingo competitions going on. Joel is proud of his win against a defenseless old man( my dad). Shameless, don't you think? My dad could have used a can of cashews, Joel!

On the farm, the girls did tie die, played in wash buckets, and watched fireworks. The weather did not cooperate with us much, so our bonfire was not on par with TX A&M. Better luck next time. I really think everyone had a great time. The girls sang for me and made up songs. They are quite talented. I was really impressed with Madeleine's ability to create a song on the fly.

Little Amanda and Hannah spent a lot of time looking at each other on the floor. They seemed to really enjoy watching the big girls play. It was cute when Amanda and Hannah would grab each other. We have some pretty good pics. Jim and Wendy made some tie-die onsies. No offense to Jim, but Wendy has a better knack for such things. Though, my shirt was great! Yes, Jim made it for me. I was out with Jay and Cristy during the tie die adventure. Anyway, there are some great pics of the girls. I'll try to post a few.
Look at the little ones in the Dutch shoes! That pic cracks me up. We went to Pella with Jim's family and Dad and Mary. It was a nice day to walk around. The visitor's booth had just gotten these shoes in from Holland. Everyone got in the act. I just can't post every pic. I wish I could. Maybe I'll post more later.
