4 month Check Up

Hannah was a trooper today. She took her shots with minimal tears. I am very proud. Now, down to the nitty gritty. Hannah is a very healthy 4 month old( and VERY TALL). She is just shy of 26 inches, which puts her in the 90th percentile for height. She weighs 15 1/2 lbs, which places her between the 75th and 80th percentile for weight. Basically, they are in line with each other. Hannah could actually gain a few lbs. Her head is 16 1/2 inches which gives her a big head. Oddly, that is supposedly inherited from the Dad, so I am wondering if Jim had a big head or not. If he did, he grew into nicely. I am sure Hannah will do the same.

The only concern for Hannah was a hip issue. They are assymetrical, which means one hip joint may not be developing correctly. It is an easy fix if we catch it now. We go to the specialist on August 8th to find out if she has a problem or not. If so, she has to sleep in a sling for about a month. The sling forces the hip joint into place and allows the muscles to tighten correctly. She'll be good to go after that. Oh, I almost forgot, Hannah is teething. This explains all the drool! The doctor confirmed it this morning. She's chewing on everything.

The only other news for Hannah is that she can start rice cereal. What fun. I'm not sure I am ready for the task of feeding her from the highchair. It's a good thing Heidi and Colin gave us the highchair when they did. The portable one I got doesn't recline. I think I need to recline Hannah a little bit. Not sure. I'll have to figure it out.

I can't believe she is already 4 months old!!! I will pray about the hip stuff and hope things go well with the rice cereal. :) I always just did plain, but later I added fruit or applesauce to it too bc Meghan seemed to eat it so much better then. ANyway, good to hear things are well and we need to get together soon! :)
