6 Month Check Up

Hannah had her 6 month check up last Wednesday. She is now 18 lbs and 27 1/4 inches long. Again, she is in the 90th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. She is perfectly healthy and right on track. Hannah is sitting up on her own and rolling all over the place. She also does this bouncing thing while she is sitting, and has thrown herself over her feet, landing on her face. Luckily, this doesn't seem to bother her. We now have to be very carefull about our little messes. Everything on the floor goes into her mouth. This would include the dog's bone.

We did learn why she has been waking up so early and fussy. Evidently, she has a sore throat. Who knew. Hopefully, she will go back to her happy self really soon. I am getting quite sleep deprived. She woke up at 4AM this morning. I gave her some Tylenol and she went right back to sleep. I didn't fall asleep so quickly... She is also teething and that could be waking her up as well. Thank goodness there is Tylenol. I have also tried the teething tablets. I can't decide if they work or not. Somimes I think they do, and other times I don't. Only time will tell.

Our little Hannah, has also become quite the little helper at daycare. One of the little boys, Ryan, was trying to roll over. Hannah grabbed his foot and helped him along. He now rolls over on his own. Ryan and Hannah share the same Birthday. He's a cutie. I coudn't believe she grabbed his foot. I would think they were kidding, but I was there when she did it. Too funny to watch. Hopefully, I'm not repeating this story. I know I've told everybody.

The only other thing I learned about Hannah this week, would be the napping thing. Well, the lack of napping in Hannah's case. According to my Pediatrician, it is normal for 6 month olds to stop taking long naps and take little 30 minute cat naps. She said it should be short lived. I hope so, because Hannah's eyes are so heavy at the end of the day. Carolyn, at daycare, has started swaddling her and putting her in the swing, so she'll sleep a little longer. We are now getting an hour nap out of her. I am ready for Hannah to get back to normal. I want her to be happy, healthy, and well rested.

I had to go back to swaddling Amanda also--she just needed a little extra cuddle. It is funny how they go back and forth on being ready to sleep without the swaddling.

I thought about swaddling at night again. I may need to go ahead and do it. I'll try it this weekend.
