Sleepless and Wet in Plano

Hannah has been sick lately. Evidently, she had a virus that showed itself through a rash. I believe all the babies in daycare got it. Anyway, we have had to keep Hannah home a few days. Lot's of tag teaming on our part, especially for work. Anyway, Hannah also started sleeping on her stomach, which causes an overfill in the front of her diaper. Oops! Needless to say, about 4:30AM, Hannah starts to fuss. I'm up. Diaper is changed. About 5:30Am, Hannah starts to fuss again. I'm up(anyone noticing who's not up?). I rock Hannah to calm her down. 6:00AM, I decide to feed Hannah, and yes, I am up for the rest of the day, ready to face work.

Did I mention Hannah was also sick? She's peeing through her diaper, hungry because she didn't eat much the day before, and uncomfortable, because she has a rash covering her body. I feel bad for her, but really, I am feeling sorry for myself, because I want some sleep, and I have to go to work.

That is the end of my pitty party. A friend told me about overnight diapers( who knew) and we tried them out last night. Hannah didn't get up until 6:30Am. We are almost back on schedule. Now, my next accomplishment will be to figure out if Hannah is needing more food during the day. Before she got sick, she had added a bottle back into her feedings. I now think we need to feed her cereal three times a day instead of two. We are close to the 6 month mark where we can expand her choices. You can tell she wants to eat real food. She looks at ours with envy.

Don't let me forget to tell you, Jim, who slept( he is still sick, but not with a rash), brought me flowers and some game cards that have a pic of me holding Hannah and Amanda. They are very cute. He felt bad I had to get up so early for the past three days, so he thought he would do something nice. Very sweet.

This has been a trying week, but it has worked out. My friend, Lisa, took Hannah to the mall and strolled her around while I met with a Dentist in Frisco. Jim had to return to work, so I had to make accomodations for Hannah. Lisa bought her a cute little stuffed puppy named lucky. She tells me Hannah picked it out herself. Oh, have I mentioned all the things Hannah is now doing? She's growing up so fast. she can reach for toys and pass them from one hand to the next. She is constantly rolling over. In fact, she rolls to get around. It's pretty funny. She can't crawl yet. She can almost sit up by herself. Well, I can sit her up and she can stay there for a few minutes before toppling over. Everything goes in her mouth at the moment. No teeth yet, though. She does this funny grunting noise that I really can't explain, but is hilarious. It just doesn't sound like a girl thing to do. I was told she is experimenting with her vocal cords.

I believe that is about it. I will hopefully be able to update with some pics next time. We have some nice ones from the Baptism.
